Colwyn Bay,
Wales
On behalf of One Housing, Gunite Infrastructure engaged Virtuscan to survey the external façades of a property located on Rick Roberts Way in Colwyn Bay, Wales. The purpose of the project was to assess and estimate the repair and maintenance work required for the sea wall.
The survey was efficiently carried out within just one day on site. The scope of works involved generating a point cloud of the sea wall, accurately determining the extent of repairs needed, and capturing high-quality images of the areas requiring attention.
To achieve this, Virtuscan used an RTK enabled DJI Phantom 4 drone to capture comprehensive data of the site. This data was then processed using TrendSpek, an advanced software that uses photogrammetry to generate precise measurements with utmost confidence.
The point cloud was further interrogated to view the clear images from which the point cloud was created. Collaborative markups and discussion points were added to the project, allowing remote collaboration from anywhere. No specialist software was needed to view it.
